Bookbinding Papers

All the papers made for bookbinding, paper conservation & restoration are made from natural cotton, linen & hemp fibres. They are internally buffered & neutrally sized & have a good wet strength. The papers vary in character & a full description can be found in the individual paper listings. In bookbinding, their main use is as replacement end papers where the subtle tones & the ability to warp boards  is valued. Other uses include spine reinforcing & the replacement of missing pages.

The traditional appearance & character of Griffen Mill bookbinding papers also makes them suitable for letterpress printing and drawing & for use in making letters, notices, proclamations & books as film props.
